MusiCo signs The Republic Of Loose drummer André Antunes as Taye Drums Endorsee
16.06.2009Following some very enjoyable discussions, we at MusiCo have signed André Antunes as our first Taye Artiste here in Ireland. André, a native of Salvador in Brazil, has worked and toured in over twenty countries before settling here in Ireland three years ago. He has been a full time member of the successful Irish band, The Republic Of Loose since October 2007. As an independant drummer here in Ireland he has worked with Amy Winehouse, Styles P, Louis Stuart, Sinéad O'Connor, Damien Dempsey, Soprano Judith Mok, Cora Venus Lunny, Dance Theathre of Ireland, Coiscem Dance Company and Festival of World Cultures with SDDance and the Irish Drum Festival. He has also found time to create his own group, +55 Band, purveyers of very danceable Samba Rock. MusiCo and Taye Drums are really looking forward to working closely with André to develop the Taye brand here in Ireland with lots of promotional activities including shows, clinics, gigs, festivals and of course the U2 support gig in Croke Park in July. André chose a Taye Studio Maple 6pce kit consisting of 22x18 Bass Drum, 10" & 12" rack Toms, 14" and 16" Floor Toms, we converted the 14x6 Snare to a Woodhoop Snare, with amazing results (see the picture above), and a 13x5 side snare. He is also using the Taye XP1.01 kick pedal as part of his hardware line-up.
